Studio 36:
A new music studio for young people in the heart of EartH
Studio 36 is a community music studio based at EartH. This new incredible facility has been built, equipped and leased free of charge to our charity partner Progression Sessions, by us at EartH, as part of our commitment to engaging meaningfully with the wider community and supporting young music makers at a time when it’s never been harder to get a leg up in the industry.
Young music creators from diverse inner-city environments have a rich history of inventing new music genres that go on to influence musicians all over the world –fom the British invasion bands of the 60s, through punk, ska and two tone, all the way to garage, jungle, drum and bass, UK funky, grime, afro-swing and drill. This project aims to support their creativity and give Hackney musicians a place to develop their skills unimpeded by their background, access to equipment or financial status.

Electronic and Dance Music Events at EartH
The expansive hall downstairs at EartH has has seen headliners such as 808 State and Hot Chip, and takeovers from the likes of Boiler Room and Worldwide FM. It’s also undergone a recent renovation which has included a huge increase of our bar sizes, upgraded additional toilets, and the addition of a connected outdoors smokers’ terrace.
Performers range from the mainstream (Elderbrook, Hayden James, and even a Taylor Swift club night, Swiftogeddon) to the experimental leftfield (Flora Yin-Wong, Mira Calix, Lanark Artefax, Moor Mother).
Browse upcoming events and club nights from electronic producers, DJs, and dance acts.
