EartH Hall - Standing
An immersive musical experience.
The Afro Cuban Music Room is a musical-filmic experience with a difference. Transporting you to the city of Matanzas, Cuba to experience Cuban rumba played in the space where it was created, the solares (tenement yards) of the city. Everyday life goes on around the musicians and you can watch as people wander in and watch, dance and sing. Walk into the space and all around you the musicians are playing, get close to one and you can pick out their instrument as if they were there playing in real life.
The Music Room features performances by musicians from the Muñequitos de Matanzas in a a low-tech immersive music experience created by Sara McGuinness, Simon Zagorski-Thomas and El Almacén collective from Matanzas.
