Glasgow-based electronic musician Lanark Artefax came to prominence following the release of his Glasz EP on Lee Gamble's UIQ label in 2016. Having been championed by heavyweights like Björk and Aphex Twin, he returned in 2017 with an EP for Nic Tasker's label Whities to massive critical acclaim, marking him out as one of the UK’s most exciting young artists. His live show debuted at Unsound in 2017 and was hailed as one of the highlights of the festival. He performed it again at this year’s Atonal festival in Berlin, with other key performances at Sonar Barcelona and Istanbul, Mutek Montreal, Berghain, Säule, Club To Club, Melt! and Nuits Sonores.
“Teetering lipsmackingly between abstraction and banging dance, and with a palette of sound that spans deep ambient, junglism and techno, this Glaswegian producer is already disturbingly accomplished. There’s a touch of Aphex Twin to his splattering, impetuous productions, but rendered in bright, ultra-contemporary synthesis.” - The Guardian
