Gazelle Twin + Hen Ogledd + Chaines + Pulled by Magnets

Embark on a musical adventure with BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction festival with two days of ear-expanding live music — programmed by The Barbican.

The festival brings the radio programme to life, featuring performances from across the musical spectrum. Tonight, there’s innovative sci-fi electronica from Gazelle Twin, following her satirical 2018 album Pastoral. She’s joined on the bill by Hen Ogledd, the new band founded by Richard Dawson, who bring together a discombobulating mix of psych-pop, medieval lore, post-punk, and harp improvisation. Seb Rochford's (Polar Bear) new band with Pete Wareham and Neil Charles, Pull By Magnets, are a new addition to the line-up; and opening the evening is Chaines, whose album The King was a masterpiece of claustrophobic electro-acoustic music.

Late Junction is the flagship experimental music programme on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds, with everything from Russian sound art to free jazz, ancient Japanese court music to Chicago footwork. The festival will feature live versions of the programme’s Collaboration Session, plus a live Late Junction Mixtape for the gathered audience.
