After a wicked 2022 we’re happy to be back for our first Baile of 2023 with two acts who encompass everything we love about the UK club scene.
Toya Delazy is a singer, producer, singer, pianist and powerhouse from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Now based in London her tunes are laced with gqom, bass, uk funky and more. In the last couple of weeks alone her latest EP Sheesh just dropped as well as a collab with WheelUp for Tru Thoughts.
Also joining us on the night is Love In The Endz. An outernational London collective formed to celebrate and connect underground cultures from around the globe, they’ve released some brilliant compilations as well as their own projects, their infamous Reprezent Radio show and DJing all over Europe. Fresh from a tour of Brazil this will be their first time playing Baile LDN as a trio with new member Loelash joining the ranks.
Our residents Emily Dust and Mango Park will complete the bill. Emily is a DJ, broadcaster and curator whose documentaries are regularly heard on BBC Radio 4. In the last year she’s played alongside Moonchild Sanelly, Branko and Plastician. She’ll be playing her signature blend of gqom, uk funky, submundo and edits. Mango Park is a DJ, journalist and promoter whose sets combine baile funk, gqom, afrohouse and amapiano with uk funky, grime, jungle and other club sounds. Coming fresh from playing in Brazil, expect a set heavy on submundo and 170bpm funk carioca bangers.
Baile LDN was formed in 2019 to celebrate the links between baile funk, gqom, afrohouse and other bass-heavy club sounds. See you in the dance!
