Born::Free Presents Veranda (5th birthday edition)

We are back! Come help us celebrate 5 years of BORN::FREE at our Veranda event!

BORN::FREE, one of London’s leading platforms for African and Afro-diasporic poetry and experimental writing, presents the next edition of Veranda, a series of experimental performance events centring Black British voices. With a focus on critique, creation and craft, this will be a curated & relaxed evening of poetry in celebration of contemporary Black British writing & poetics of past, present & possible futures.

September’s birthday edition features 3 poets joined by our house band – a group of young musicians who will be jamming throughout the night. Curated by poet/educator Belinda Zhawi, writer/filmmaker Chima Nsoedo & writer/theatre-maker Malakaï Sargeant, expect an informal yet insightful evening of live performance and readings packed with laughs and deep hums; many lessons and many lessons.
