DJ Black Motion + Culoe De Song
Due to unforeseen travel related issues, both Black Motion & Culoe De Song will be unable to enter the UK and perform at EartH Hackney tonight.
We are however delighted to share that a fantastic replacement has been found in the shape of Juls, straight off the back of a fully sold-out residency with our friends at The Jazz Cafe. Your tickets will be valid for the replacement show tonight – we would love to see you there.
You will also have priority access to our rescheduled Black Motion & Culoe De Song date when announced.
There are advanced tickets available for the Juls show for anyone who has not already got a ticket for Black Motion & Culoe De Song. You can find them via Resident Advisor.
Over the last decade, South Africa has become widely considered a new mecca for house music, particularly deep and afro house; the sound itself permeates into nearly every commercial radio station and club scene throughout the country.
Within South Africa itself, Pretoria (Tshwane), the home township of Black Motion, is considered the Capital of House Music. Bogani Mohasana (DJ Murda) and Thabo Mabogwame (Smol) made music for the local mixtape industry for years before they merged under the same moniker, but it was their collaborations that gave them international fame and dominance of the African electronic scene in 2010.
The duo’s 2010 hit Banane Makovo ‘Clap Your Hands’ granted them international recognition leading to 4 full studio albums, of which one, ‘Fortune Teller’ (2014), has reached gold status.
Expect melodic, percussion-driven electronic music and excellent showmanship as Black Motion takes us through the world Afro-House.
