Murcof x Sergi Palau: The Alias Sessions

Unfortunately despite testing negative before his flight on Tuesday morning, Murcof has now had a positive Covid test just before soundcheck and isn’t feeling well. However, we’re not going to let that get in the way of tonight’s show.
Murcof is recording his live set especially for you from his hotel room and Sergi will be doing the visuals live on stage. The show will run as planned with a wonderful support from Pye Corner Audio.
We are still going to have a special show. We wish Murcof a swift recovery and we are working on another gig late notice for when he gets out of quarantine that we hope we can arrange as soon as possible.

Murcof is the performing name for Mexican electronica artist Fernando Corona. With a forte in sparse, minimalist beats and glitchy, complex percussion, Murcof’s work with Sergi Palau for The Alias Sessions combines audio and visual to create sound pieces for the Swiss Alias scenic arts company. This material is more abstract than his previous works, with plenty of non-tonal sounds that sometimes take centre stage. And where conventional musical elements are used, they are often processed beyond recognition.
Pye Corner audio will be in support, with cinematic electronica that evokes sci-fi soundtracks, dystopian futures and the sound of haunted dance floors.
