Rose Matafeo
Nish Kumar

This event will take place in EartH Theatre. Doors at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm.

Paul Williams, Taskmaster NZ star and Lorde’s favourite Kiwi musician (“that was really nice of her” - Paul), launches his eagerly awaited sophomore album and the follow up to 2018’s acclaimed Surf Music with a one-night-only show at EartH Hackney.

With support from Sam Campbell: Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, Taskmaster champion, and star of Would I Lie To You, Cats Does Countdown and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. With special guests Rose Matafeo and Nish Kumar also on the line up!

“He’s a polymath, a modern-day Renaissance Man, and all that finds a way into his music… an excellent, earnest piece of pop music that feels individual and unique” - The Spinoff, on Surf Music.

Paul Williams is a musician and comedian from Nelson, New Zealand. He released his debut album, Surf Music, in 2018. A collection of synth-inflected, bittersweet pop melodies, the album went on to become a cult-hit; comedy fans might have spotted Rose Matafeo dancing in the video to its title track Surf Music, heard Nish Kumar’s guitar on album-track Marina, and become hooked on basketball-themed piano ballad Euroleague after it was featured in James Acaster’s tour and comedy special, Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999.
