Shabaka Hutchings’ One Fest
OneFest has decided to push the dates of its North/South events back from September 2019 to 7th March for Leadmill, Sheffield and 14th March for EartH, London. With Shabaka Hutchings curating OneFest 2020, the programme and lineup will be bigger and more ambitious than ever, while the focus will remain on the ‘North-South Divide’. All tickets already bought will be transferable to next year.
Mercury Prize Nominee Shabaka Hutchings (Sons of Kemet, The Comet is Coming) curates the next iteration of OneFest, offering fans and festival-goers an experience like no other with special one-off collaborations bridging the best of young British jazz talent collaborating with their peers and elders. Featured performers confirmed so far include: MAISHA, NAT BIRCHALL and OKUMU, HERBERT, SKINNER + BYRON WALLEN, more TBA.
The daytime programme will feature panels and workshops which include The North South Divide ‘Bridging the Gap’, Shabaka Workshop & Q+A, Start Ups: Business, & Funding Workshop, Mental Health ‘Let’s Keep the Conversation Going’, Female Entrepreneurs in the Industry ‘We Did it Our Way…’, more TBA.
OneFest is an award-winning non-profit that provides a platform for new and emerging talent which will inspire, support and develop a new generation of artists, performers and music industry professionals through the creation of opportunities and practical experience in the music and creative industries – ultimately contributing to the regeneration of the UK music community and the nurturing of a new generation of industry talent.
