The building blocks of modern music as we all know it – the blues echoes right through into soul, funk, R&B and hip hop. In this brand new live show & documentary experience, you will journey through the rural sounds of the 1920’s Mississippi Delta, the urban music of 1950’s Chicago, the British blues boom of the 1960’s and the present day musicians keeping the blues alive and well. 20 short documentary films, narrated live and 20 stunning live performances.

London’s finest musicians recreate the sounds, songs and stories of 20 era-defining artists that helped shape the musical foundations of America, from Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Sister Rosetta, Howlin’ Wolf and Big Mama Thornton to The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Dan Auerbach.

“Every bad situation is a blues song waiting to happen…” Amy Winehouse

“Blues is the same as rap music today. They were rapping about street life and gangster life and hustling, just a dark side of the world…” Nas

“No one goes through life without both joy and pain, triumph and sorrow. The blues gets all of that, sometimes with just one lyric or one note.” President Obama
