Remember when Kasabian first came on the scene and it felt like a new cult had arrived in town? Get ready for the second coming as Kasabian mastermind Serge Lorenzo Pizzorno (yes, The S.L.P. to us) prepares to release his debut eponymous solo album with Columbia Records on 30th August. Having already collaborated with Little Simz for latest single Favourites, Serge sets off on a handful of European tour dates, staying with us for two nights in a row. Already known for pushing his esoteric influences – from MF Doom to Bulgarian psychedelia to avant-garde electronica – into the sonic framework of a mainstream, The SLP is reportedly Sergio’s chance to “let his freak flag fly”; we’re into it.
