WE’RE HIRING: Bar Supervisor
OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced bartender to supervise the bar and floor teams during live events at EartH. With experience in operating bars, managing front of house teams and with proven experience leadership and processes, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse range of events in a dynamic live environment.
Along with the Operations Managers, you will play an instrumental role in the reopening of our venue, as we take this opportunity to restart stronger and more resilient. Your main focus will be on delivering and overseeing the delivery of first class service to our customers and lead the team by ensuring they have what they need to succeed.
You will be responsible for bar service across all events as well as back of house operations. In addition to leading the team, you will be responsible for stock management and maximising all revenue streams across the bar, cloakroom and box office.
In this role you will be expected to include the running of shifts, motivation and training of staff, cash management and reporting, stock management, and ensuring that the bars comply with all legislation including Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Licensing Laws. EartH is a small service-driven organisation that is highly customer focused and therefore the successful candidate will also personally be required to lead service on occasion.
You must have fantastic customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a highly dynamic, regularly changing environment. Candidates should also have a fluent level of both written and spoken English and good numeracy skills.
Applicants must have previous experience in bar management and preferably a personal licence. The role requires an individual with the ability to lead the regular event service, supervise the operation and run the venue’s bars as effectively as possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key responsibilities will include:
– Motivating FOH staff to deliver an efficient and outstanding level of customer service.
– Day-to-day running of the bar, including a hands-on role leading the service personally. – Taking stock deliveries.
– Responsibility for ensuring bar cleanliness, bar maintenance, safety standards and ensuring all legal and licensing requirements are met.
– Liaising with private and corporate hire clients during their events to meet their needs.
– Helping to ensure all other areas of the bars and cellars are kept in a good, clean condition and reporting any maintenance or operational issues.
– Post event cash reconciliation.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Essential:
A friendly and approachable attitude with great customer service skills.
Strong operational track record with a sound knowledge of drink products.
Great staff management skills.
Experience of bar management.
Good financial awareness and administrative skills.
Stock management experience.
An excellent level of written and spoken English.
An ability to work well under pressure and work as part of a team.
A reliable, hard working approach with a drive to succeed.
Good IT skills.
Desirable:
Experience of running and/or serving for large scale events for in excess of 1000 customers.
Food hygiene certification and training
A personal licence
Extensive cocktail knowledge
A passion for music.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Hourly Rate: £12 p/h
Start date: ASAP
