KALA began as a platform for us to create experiences that were not only affordable, friendly and inclusive, but that we would want to go on ourselves. A way for people, just like us, to find the space to reset both body and mind.
Pip is Kala’s resident yoga teacher. Pippa originally trained as a professional dancer. After injury she attended her first yoga class hoping to find something similar.
Fast forward 10 years and yoga had become a huge part of Pippa’s life. Having helped her with anxiety and panic disorders, she realised the healing power that exercise, good food, yoga and meditation can bring to one’s mental health. She trained to teach yoga in order to share this passion with others.
Pippa believes in living a life full of love, joy and gratitude; free of judgement. These feelings inform and guide her teaching, helping her students better connect to themselves, with others and with the world around them.

Lex is a freelance Events and Operations Manager who like Pip has a passion for an active lifestyle and nutrition.
Having worked in hospitality and production in various capacities including music venues, festivals, catering, bars and restaurants over the past 15 years, Lex’s love of organising and cooking has led her to collaborate with Pip.
Since being diagnosed with type one diabetes in 2011, Lex’s lifestyle has had to change. Her interest in healthy eating, keeping active and the healing power of nutrition has become a passion.
Lex loves creating events that she would want her to experience herself – something we have tried to instil in KALA.
