Maisha

Maisha (meaning ‘Life’) is a London based Ensemble lead by drummer Jake Long (2016 Yamaha Jazz Scholar). The group play original music inspired by artists such as Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and Idris Mohammad, fused with heavily rhythmic West African and Afrobeat Grooves.

With Jake Long on Drums, Nubya Garcia on Saxophone/Flute, Shirley Tetteh on Guitar, Amané Suganami on Keys, Twm Dylan on Double Bass, Tim Doyle on Percussion and Yahael Camara-Onono on Percussion.
